Daihatsu Gran Max in Malaysia uses a 1.5-litre 2NR-VE four-cylinder petrol engine with Dual VVT-i (variable valve timing), producing roughly 97 hp and 134 Nm of torque. Older pre-2021 models relied on the 3SZ-VE DVVT engine.
The Daihatsu Gran Max available in Malaysia is a light commercial pick-up and panel van featuring a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) layout.
